Media Hotlink Protection (Download)
We devleoped this FREE hotlinking protection script to protect your videos and other media from being hotlinked (directly linked to from another site without your permission). The script encrypts your video URLs making use of a salt provided by you and a time key.
When somebody copies the encrypted URL of one of your videos that URL will only continue to work for a short period of time, and will then redirect users to your homepage instead.
This cunning method allows the user just enough time to paste the URL in to a forum but then automatically redirects users to your homepage, turning attempted bandwidth theft into pageviews!
After installing this script my bandwidth usage dropped by over 20% while pageviews increased!
Example Usage
Below is a video using our hotlink protection. The URL for the video is unique every time this page loads, and the video URL will stop working after 15 minutes.
The URL being used for this video is:
http://www.hotlinkingprotection.com/getfile/12240060737647898895331egtfodewedsregtfodegdsZmLkJzMlxGctFGel9iMyYWNzQjZz9WZklmdwedsr.flv
In 15 minutes time the above link will stop working, below is an example of an expired link:

Note that if you purchase the script, expired links will automatically redirect to your website. This turns attempted bandwidth theft into increased pageviews and revenue!
